Biography

Trent has a diverse practice comprising public law litigation, commercial litigation and advising. He appears regularly in the Federal Court, and State and Territory Supreme Courts at first instance and appellate level. Much of his practise comprises complex and sensitive litigation that is the focus of media attention and parliamentary scrutiny.

Trent is listed in Doyle’s Guide as a leading administrative and public law barrister. Although not his main practice area, Trent is also listed in Doyle’s Guide as a leading employment law junior counsel. 

Trent is a member of the NSW Bar Association’s Human Rights Committee and Inquests and Inquiries Committee, and is a legal officer in the Royal Australian Navy.
