2025 JCU Law Seminar Series with Trent Glover: ‘The New ART – Same but Different?’

11 St James Hall invites you to attend ‘The New ART – Same but Different?’ as part of the 2025 JCU Law Seminar Series, presented by Trent Glover SC.

This seminar will explore the jurisdiction and procedures in the new Administrative Review Tribunal (ART), which replaced the Administrative Appeals Tribunal (AAT) in October 2024 and is intended to create a more user-focused, efficient and accessible system. Covering its broad jurisdiction, from social security and veterans’ entitlements to the NDIS and highlighting key procedural changes, Trent will explain what these reforms mean for practitioners, stakeholders and the public.

One of Australia’s leading public law barristers, Trent is an Adjunct Professor at James Cook University. He is currently the Chair of the NSW Bar Association’s Human Rights Committee, and has more than two decades of experience appearing in the AAT (and now the ART) in matters primarily involving security assessments, freedom of information and archives.
